Zoom for Government Features for Accessible and Secure Communication
Zoom for Government (ZfG) is a platform that can facilitate communication within government organizations by introducing new features every month that enhance public service, security, and daily operations.
Connect with the Public
Connecting with the public is a crucial aspect of government agencies, and ZfG provides various features to ensure inclusivity for all. For instance, the Sign Language Interpretation View is now accessible to all Zoom for Government accounts, which enables meetings and webinars that require sign language interpreters to be more accessible. Additionally, account owners and admins can allow hosts to broadcast their microphone audio to all breakout rooms in a meeting, thereby improving organization in group events and public forums or city council sessions. If enabled by account admins, users can display their preferred pronouns in a contact card and as part of their display name in meetings and webinars.
Unparalleled Security
Security is of utmost importance to government organizations and Zoom for Government ensures compliance with existing security features while continuously adding more features. For example, account owners and admins can enable default meeting templates such as large meetings, internet-based IL4 meetings, and seminars, which come with a subset of web, scheduler, and client-level settings. Furthermore, they can define the locations where users can make and accept calls and send SMS, thereby adding an extra layer of security to VoIP communications. Account owners and admins can also define custom emergency numbers for their entire account or sites.
Simplifying Ease-of-Use
Zoom’s latest releases enable users to work flexibly by tailoring how, where, and when they communicate with others. Enhancements to call history for macOS, iOS, Windows, and Android allow users to filter their call history by line if they receive calls from more than one line. New marketplace integrations such as Google Workspace for Zoom Meetings, Phone, and Team Chat, Zoom for Microsoft Dynamic 365 for phone, and Eloqua for Zoom Webinars support interoperability and reduce disparate workflows. Finally, account owners and admins can manage their audio library for greetings, music on hold, and more in a centralized location, helping streamline phone workflows and personalize certain communications.
Secure Collaboration for Government Agencies
Zoom for Government is authorized at the FedRAMP Moderate Level and has achieved a Provisional Authorization (PA) from Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) for the Department of Defense (DoD) at Impact Level 4 (IL4) and an Authorization to Operate (ATO) for DoD IL4 with the Department of the Air Force for Zoom Meetings and Zoom Phone. It also supports HIPAA, CJIS, and CMMC compliance requirements and has achieved a StateRAMP Moderate authorization.
